Technology boosts generosity

14/01/2011

The coalition Government has launched the Giving Green Paper, focusing on how to increase every day giving and to make giving and social action a habitual behaviour. Debate and questions following the Giving Green Paper will be introduced in a White Paper which is aimed to be launched in Spring 2011.

The Government has realised that to encourage increased giving during times where people are finding every pound is being stretched, opportunities to give must be made as ‘easy and attractive as possible’. Everyclick has been thumbed as one instance of how Technology boosts generosity. Products like Give as you Live™ are enabling groups of individuals to raise sums of money every year without giving or spending any extra than normal. Everyclick’s technology turns existing online behaviour into free fundraising opportunities.

With Give as you Live™ launching weekly shopping deals available to supporters, giving just became that much easier. See how easy it is to raise funds with Give as you Live™ by reading what Everyclick CEO and Founder Polly Gowers bought to raise £44 for The Starlight Foundation in just 4 weeks.

Everyclick Founder, Polly Gowers, appointed to Entrepreneurs’ Forum by Business Secretary Vince Cable

23/11/2010

“The Business Secretary wants to break down the barriers that deter people from taking the leap into starting a business and encourage them to make a job, not take a job.”

Polly has been asked to sit on a forum of 26 respected entrepreneurs that will shape an ongoing dialogue of growth and development between business and Government.

Business Secretary Vince Cable said:

“People with the courage to start up a business will be crucial to driving the growth of the economy. Start-ups create jobs, stimulate innovation and provide a competitive spur to existing businesses to encourage them to increase their productivity. I am delighted with the quality of the membership of my new forum and look forward to bouncing ideas off them and hearing their views.”

Polly has also been selected to support the Women on Boards: Call for Evidence. As a female CEO, Polly is among a small collection of women who sit at the helm of successful businesses. In fact, research from Cranfield University has shown that women made up only 12.2% of directors of the FTSE 100 companies in 2009. Polly has been asked to support the Call for Evidence as “Government is committed to seeing swift change in this area.”
