Successful RAF Tornado Cup for Gloucester Girls Rugby Charitable Trust Fund

Gloucester City 10s 2009 saw 270 13 – 18 year olds descend on Hartpury College in beautiful weather to compete for the RAF Tornado Cup and Team Challenge in a 10s rugby festival for under 15s and under 18s.

The event delivered by Gloucester Girls Rugby Charitable Trust Fund, a registered charity created to deliver funding and care, develop and protect volunteers delivering the sport in Gloucestershire was a hugely successful event. 18 teams entered over the two days with great feedback.

The CEO of Forest of Dean Council Mrs Marilyn Smart OBE has already booked to come to the event again next year. As for the Everyclick mouse – he strolled around the pitches enjoying many hugs and tackles whilst spreading the good work of the campaign to help charities and clubs support themselves through inspirational initiatives. The RAF enjoyed seeing the mouse get into the plane simulator on site as part of a recruitment campaign.

The RAF is a fantastic career which also supports rugby for women as part of a healthy career.
